Zagreb Timekeepers, a newer title in the repertoire of the Zagreb Puppet Theater, is based on the original text by Ana Tonković Dolenčić, directed by Krešimir Dolenčić, and this title, for the first time in recent theatrical reality, transmits the history of Zagreb from archives, museums and textbooks to the stage.

Through fun stage images with puppets that can travel everything, even through time, with the most beautiful songs about our city, performed live by the ensemble of the play, from prehistoric times to the not so distant past, we meet historical figures, legends and turning points. formed the outlines of today's Zagreb.

With this play, school-age children, but also all those who want to remember it, try to bring closer the centuries-old efforts of the inhabitants of this area, not only as school material, but also as a sense of belonging to the city in which we live.

"When was Zagreb created?" How was the Cathedral built? Why did the residents of Gradec and Kaptol quarrel? Where do so many German words in the speech of the people of Zagreb come from? Who exactly are purgers? The answers to these, but also many other questions, someone already knows or remembers, and someone will only answer them in the third grade of primary school, for evaluation. "Zagreb timekeepers" will help them in this, traveling through peaceful and turbulent moments, centuries of history of our city, revealing to their audience how Zagreb developed from prehistoric times to today's, modern metropolis ", writes the author of the text Ana Tonković Dolenčić.
