Archived: Zagreb Clown Festival: Obligation

The author's project of Nikola Majdak and Lee Delong OBLIGATION builds its story on an eternal, forever unresolved – conflict between the world of freedom, imagination and innocence and the space of grayness and hopelessness. Through the archetypal struggle of the real and the imagined, the attainable and the unattainable, the possible and the impossible; between the world of dreams and what we call reality, performer Nikolina Majdak, like Alice once did, seeks her way beyond the mirror. Inspired by the visionary drama of Jean Giradoux The Madwoman of Chaillot, this monodrama connects with the tradition of non-verbal theater by placing special emphasis on the acting technique of the clown.

OBLIGATION is a joint creation of the performer Nikola Majdak and the director Lee Delong.
