IX. Bobby's days of laughter SCHOOL FOR WOMEN

Author: Jean-Baptiste Poquelin Molière

Director: Nikola Zavišić

Producer: HNK Osijek

Jean-Baptiste Poquelin Molière's comedy "School for Women", directed by Nikola Zavišić, premiered on Friday night at the Croatian National Theater (HNK) in Osijek.

The director of the Osijek HNK Drama Petra-Bernarda Blašković said that the choice of this text and the director of the play was "an interesting winning combination" because Zavišić is also loved by younger audiences, and his approach to theater is "what every theater dreams of". Blašković pointed out that this is of key importance when making a play based on a controversial text such as this one.

The director of the Osijek HNK, Dražen Vrselj, believes that the director has made a big step forward, because the play has a large dose of humor, and on the other hand, questions a number of problems that women face in society.

Director Zavišić explained that there are a number of comic situations and songs in the play, but also parodies of operetta and opera, musicals and drama scenes that are poetic and dance.

That is why he is convinced that the audience will love watching this Molière, which is not traditional, and that, with a lot of laughter, one can expect a lot of poetic images, which are sometimes even scary, but that, in fact, between that laughter and fear, the key to this story is the position of women in the 17th century and today.

"Has anything changed here, how many women can decide on their lives at all, how many have the right to education, which is male chauvinism, I think we have clearly supported all these topics through humor, but sometimes dark humor, which was used by Molière" , said director Zavišić.

The main role for this play was prepared by the actor Aleksandar Bogdanović, who died on December 25 last year from injuries sustained in a car accident, and the role was taken over by Ivan Ćaćić, who pointed out that in preparing the play they did their best to overcome this difficult period. .

"Together we shared the sadness, but also the joy that we brought the show to an end. I was a good friend of Aleksandar and I know that this is what he would like the most ", said Ćaćić.

After the premiere, in honor of Aleksandar Bogdanović, videos of rehearsals for the play were shown, in which Bogdanović participated, which the audience greeted with long applause.

The play featured Ivan Ćaćić, Antonia Mrkonjić, Antonio Jakupčević, Sandra Lončarić, Mario Rade, Jasna Odorčić, Duško Modrinić and Selma Mehić. The playwright is Dora Golub, the costume designer is Suna Kažić, the set designer is Igor Vasiljev, and the stage movement and choreography are designed by Maja Huber.
