As part of the 54th International Folklore Festival

The International Folklore Festival Zagreb is the largest and most prestigious folklore festival in the Republic of Croatia. It has been held in the city of Zagreb since 1966. It presents and affirms the traditional culture and folklore of numerous domestic and foreign participants. It continues the long tradition of the Peasant Unity Festival – a cultural, educational and charitable organization of the Croatian Peasant Party between the two world wars. In modern Croatia, the Festival is part of the world movement for the preservation of cultural heritage that accompanies UNESCO programs.

Exceptional concerts with an excellent musical line-up await you in the Atrium of the Klovićevi dvori Gallery . Excellent artists bring you a handful of domestic and foreign musical traditions in a new interpretation.

All concerts, as well as the entire program of the Festival, will be held in accordance with the prescribed epidemiological measures and recommendations.

Fado – Jelena Radan and Pedro Abreu on guitar

Jelena has been singing her fado for many years, which heals a state of indifference, as she likes to say. Fado has found Jelena, and Jelena enjoys fado in the breaks between concerts of original music, and often connects them. Pedro brought the scent of Madeira and expertly arranged the songs that Jelena chose as the ones that mean the most to her. The songs, the backbone of this fado concert, are the ones that lead us on a journey of destiny and will, sea and wind, fear and longing. What is it that doesn’t make us indifferent in fado, if the fadista performs it properly? Saudade is that feeling of sadness, longing, a painful emptiness of unfulfilled desires, but also a cry, pride, search…

Afro-Caribbean folklore with Cubismo

Cubismo is a band that plays energetic dance music based on Afro-Cuban rhythms, but in its distinctive and recognizable style not limited to stylistic fences. As a counterbalance to the complex arrangements in the group, the improvisation of all members based primarily on jazz is nurtured. Known for its high musical quality, Cubismo has been regularly awarded various professional prizes. They are the winners of a record 24 Porins with more than 40 nominations, and its members are frequent winners of the Status Award for the best instrumentalists in Croatia due to their playing skills.

Traditional music with signature – Zrinka Posavec

Zrinka's motto that the Voice reveals the soul, passion and desires is the idea she uses at her concerts, describing the music of ethno regions with her vocal interpretations: warm old town songs belonging to Pannonia, songs from Međimurje, Dalmatia and its Slavonia.

She is also the author of new compositions written in the spirit of ethno music, which best shows her versatility and artistic brilliance. Some of her songs are based on chanson, which has become a symbol of Croatian music of the twentieth century. Zrinka sings songs that belong to these areas and peoples, she sings about their lives looking for a new sound whose source is authenticity, not wanting to neglect for a moment the spirit of the people who created in these countries. With his music he describes people from towns and villages, their longings, loves and desires.
