The Weekend Media Festival is being postponed though

Given that the Weekend is not just a conference or just a festival, but Rovinj, the sea, entertainment, sun, lectures and socializing and that its role is special in the specific context of the region, Weekend will not be held online or in any other form

After 12 successful years, the 13th edition of the Weekend Media Festival will not take place due to the global Covid 19 virus pandemic.

“We want to be responsible to the Weekend community. Although it seemed that the situation with the coronavirus would stabilize by the fall, now that it is no longer certain we have decided not to hold this year’s Weekend Media Festival. Weekend is not only a festival, but also a community that was formed during 12 years of socializing in Rovinj. Responsibility to that community simply does not allow us to organize a festival if we cannot be sure that the health situation allows it. Weekend is an experience, and if we can't make that experience possible, then it's not Weekend, ”said festival director Tomo Ricov.

Given that the Weekend is not just a conference or just a festival, but Rovinj, the sea, entertainment, sun, lectures and socializing and that its role is special in the specific context of the region, Weekend will not be held online or in any other form. Weekend only goes if all these elements can be fulfilled and if all Weekenders can truly enjoy it.

All those who have already bought the registration fees will be refunded the full amount of the payment. The organizers point out that the next gathering in Rovinj is reserved for next year, when all visitors will be able to remember the successful 12 years of the largest regional festival of the communication industry, and this year we will simply skip and forget as soon as possible.
