Interesting location changes, strengthening of Advent in the vicinity of Zagreb and greater focus on children's events
For the last five years, we have been carefully following what is happening with Advent in Zagreb, and we are also taking a look at Advent events in the vicinity of Zagreb. This year, some interesting changes took place in terms of the layout of the locations, as well as the overall programs. We cannot say that the Advent fever has started because the whole story has yet to unfold as it has in recent years. We gently leave here for your review the interesting things that caught the eye of the Christmas maniac editorial staff.
New and old locations
Perhaps this year's biggest news in terms of experienced organizers of Advent events is that BAŠ NAŠ has moved to Samobor. We dare to say that there they repeated the opulence that they have brought to Zagreb for years. Namely, they captured the entire square of Samobor and created a winter oasis from it that you will want to return to.
Caffe de Matoš took their place, on Zagreb's Ban Jelačić Square. Since the upper city locations are still out of order, and something unusual is happening in the rest of Zagreb's center, this legendary Advent event is located in the very heart of the city. And it is called – Legendary Advent.
A new location that has turned out to be a good witch this year is the revival of Kvaternik Square, which once upon a time was an Advent meeting place. Go ahead, check the condition of several tram stops east of the city center.
Museums have stepped up their Advent programs
Most of the museums that usually participated in Advent are also participating this year. More precisely – Zagreb City Museum, Ethnographic Museum and Chocolate Museum.
The good news is that they got reinforcements this year. To begin with, the newly opened Croatian Museum of Natural History , which still attracts a sea of curious people big and small. Now, in addition to the permanent lineup, they have added a winter note for a more complete experience. The House of Caricature Oto Reisinger will also take part in Advent for the first time.
We were particularly pleased with the news that this year, after last year's debut, the Hunting Museum, hidden deep in the Tuškanac forest, will be joining Advent. Last year we brought a report that is worth reading even now because you will be greeted with almost the same content.
Greater emphasis on children's events
We won't start with the most important ones, but have you noticed that this year there are two Merry Christmas trams rolling on Zagreb's tracks? One is, of course, the old-fashioned tram that we are used to every December. But now you also have an appropriately decorated low-floor tram that you can jump into straight away to compare experiences…
