Ten days of open air festival consisting of numerous programs
To cut a long story short – from the end of August, a good festival story begins at the Zagreb Fair. Study the program, you might like it:
Friday, August 30 Count Rifula
18:00 – 18:45
We are the rock band "Grof Rifula", we like hard riffs and singing melodies. Genre-wise, we combine classic rock, grunge, doom and blues into our own version of rock and roll. Roommates Dino and Luka recorded a Christmas song for Christmas 2020 in their pantry in Trešnjevca and put it on YouTube. The guys they played basketball with in the neighborhood heard the song and suggested starting a band. We got together as a Majke cover band and appropriately called ourselves Fathers. However, we have never been a cover band, we have stamped our own songs from the beginning. Our album is ready for release, we are more trained than ever, in top shape, handsome and fertile.
Meshgrid
19:00 – 19:45
Meshgrid is a four-member original band from Zagreb created with the aim of combining different genres of music in Croatian and English. They released their first album Pilot at the end of 2023.
Munchmen
20:00 – 20:45
Winners of the first Summer at the Zagreb Fair! The band from Zagreb, which is already in 2015. began to take root in garages and school playgrounds. After several years of playing, creating, improvising and looking for members, the band formed in the current line-up in 2019, and for its first release under the name Munchmen, it will release the self-titled EP album in 2021.
With their funk-rock mix, often inspired by genres such as jazz, grunge, pop, hip hop, indie and blues, they present themselves on the music scene as energetic live performers who do not lose focus during the recording of studio recordings and "fines". For their first performance, Munchmen was declared the winner of the 25th HGF, and the band continues with its concert tour, and they recently recorded the album that they are presenting here.
Donkey Hot
21:00 – 21:45
Donkey Hot is a rock 'n' roll band that has been around since 2014. "The band has achieved nothing in the last nine years, so we don't hope for anything. Success has not happened to us yet and we may have to wait a couple of lifetimes for it," say the band members with tears in their eyes. However, they recently released the album "MAMA". They are still figuring out the right answer to the question "Why is the album called 'MAMA'?", they haven't agreed whether Vili or Hrvoje is a better drummer, Doris still hasn't managed to come to the rehearsal on time, and Dujmić hasn't yet managed to hack social networks so that they have thousands of likes on posts. In fact, the only thing they are sure of is that they will create a frenzy at every next gig.
Burek says that "Vili has that something to raise from the dead", so they are also welcome to their concerts. Vili says that the audience always goes wild on stage, and they usually expect Gopč's spoiled son, who comes. Therefore, if you see them playing somewhere, there's no reason why you shouldn't come too! We also add an exclusive piece of news: it took Donkey Hot nine years to release an album, and considering that they are already playing some stuff from the second album, we assume that the second album will come out sometime around 2045.
End of Program
22:00 – 22:45
Kraj Programa is a band from Rijeka that appeared on the music scene ten years ago, bringing freshness and energy through a combination of Rijeka-Crikvenica bands such as MBurns and TOST. They are especially distinguished by the piercing but melodic vocals of Đina Škulić, which has become a trademark of their music.
The band recorded their work so far by releasing two albums: "Kraj Programa" and "Ovdje Pripadam". These albums brought them recognition on the domestic scene, while their lively and energetic live performances allowed them to introduce themselves to a wider audience. Wherever there is an opportunity to perform, Kraj Program justifies it with its energy and desire for constant progress.
Their do-it-yourself approach, patience and quality have come to the fore in a series of singles such as "Eyes in eyes", "Kule od karata", "Srce na dlana" and "Every new day". These singles laid the foundations for their long-term work, which culminated in the new album "Ne pričaju o nama". The album contains 12 powerful and emotionally charged songs that invite listeners looking for a modern sound and lyrical content to immerse themselves in the material and experience it in their own way.
"They don't talk about us" is completely signed by the band themselves, which once again confirmed their do-it-yourself approach. Their dedication to music and energetic performances ensure their place among the most prominent bands…
