Autonomous Cultural Center Medica

AKC is a non-partisan, non-profit, non-governmental association of citizens operating in the field of non-institutional culture and youth. The association operates on a do-it-yourself basis, creates a cultural, political and economic alternative and fosters an activist approach and provides a public space for creation and action for anyone who refuses to be part of the mainstream and wants to participate in local change leading to a free society. Since 1997, AKC has been supporting the independent cultural scene by organizing independent and partnership projects implemented throughout Croatia and abroad in the form of art festivals, alternative concert events, film and theater production, gallery program, library and free educational content. Beginning in 2009, AKC operates the AKC Medika socio-cultural center, active in the areas of civil society, subversive art, and activism.
