The most famous South African gospel choir, Soweto Gospel Choir , as part of its world tour "Hope", arrives in Croatia, where it will hold three concerts; November 15 at the Gervais Center in Opatija, November 16 at the Croatian National Theater in Zadar, and November 17 at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb.
The "Hope" tour is special because it brings songs that have inspired the members of the choir over the years and that highlight the power of music in challenging times. "Hope shows the power of song and performance and how they can inspire real change," said Shimmy Jiyane, choirmaster of the Soweto Gospel Choir.
The audience will enjoy traditional South African anthems, impressive performances of songs such as "Amazing Grace", "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen, and "Freedom Songs Medley". The Soweto Gospel Choir, known for its colorful traditional costumes and energetic performances, fuses African gospel, black spirituals, reggae and American popular music. The choir is a three-time winner of the Grammy Award, and its performances leave audiences all over the world breathless.
In addition to their musical success, the choir is also recognized for its humanitarian work, and they are the founders of the Nkosi's Haven Vukani foundation, which helps neglected children and mothers and children suffering from AIDS.
