Summer carnival near Zagreb? It can!
The International Frog Carnival is the first continental carnival started by the "Zaba" Carnival Association.
During the month of June, the event "June stage" will be held in Ivanić-Grad, which will offer numerous events.
The June stage is a monthly urban program during which different forms of urban culture will be presented over four June weekends. As part of the program, the 9th Toy Festival and the 13th International Frog Carnival will be held on June 3 and 4, 2023. The event is organized in cooperation with the City of Ivanić-City, associations, public institutions and other organizations from the city area.
9. Toy Festival
The Toy Festival event is intended for families with children of preschool and school age, and gathers manufacturers of quality and educational toys and offers children's educational workshops, fun and recreational activities and performances by children's choirs with the slogan "The game never gets tired". During the two-day event, children and adults can enjoy the kingdom of toys, various competitions, theater and magic shows. The two-day event is held at the Zelenjak Sports Park.

The official opening of the Festival with a parade of lead soldiers will take place on Saturday, June 3 at 11:30 am . The rich program will delight both the young and the slightly older, who will surely return to their childhood. Along with exhibitions of toy collectors, LEGO bricks and model railways, there will be fire games, face painting, a creative art workshop, piquing and gumi-gumi.
Numerous competitions will be held, including the wooden horse race, the half-baked pot, the potato cooking competition, the bow and arrow shooting competition, the bow on dad's back and the First Applause music competition.
On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the museums of Hrvatski Zagorje will be presented (Museum of the Krapina Neanderthals, Museum of the Peasants' Revolt, Staro selo Kumrovec, Dvor Veliki Tabor, Gallery of Antun Augustinčić), and on Sunday at the same time museums from the Moslavina area (Museum of Ivanić-Grada, Čazm City Museum, Museum of Moslavina Kutina). At 5 p.m. on both days in Selo Bajka, stories will be told with the interactive participation of children and a workshop. Saturday will be filled with magic and theater shows, and on Sunday morning the Festival of Children's Choirs will delight, while in the afternoon and evening there will be a concert by the Hudrović sisters and a children's disco.
13th International Frog Carnival
The town of Ivanić-Grad is a member of the FECC – Federation of European Carnival Cities. The International Frog Carnival is the first continental carnival started by the "Zaba" carnival association from Ivanić-Grad with the patronage of the town and the Tourist Board.
More than 300 participants in carnival groups from Croatia, Slovenia and other European countries will parade at the carnival. The procession leaves from the Zelenjak Sports Park at 6 p.m. The presentation of carnival groups and carnival points will take place on Vladimira Nazor Square. The "Zaba" carnival association annually participates in around 10 carnivals in Croatia and neighboring countries.

Free parking is available throughout the city, and during events, visitors can also use the HŽPP Excursion Train. For 3. and 4.6. the timetable is as follows :
Departure from Zagreb GK is at 9.20 – Maksimir 9.28 – Sesvete 9.39 – Dugo Selo 9.51 and arrival in Ivanić Grad is at 10.12. Return from Ivanić Grad is at 17:25 – arrival in Dugo Selo at 17:46 – Sesvete 17:58 – Maksimir 18:09 and Zagreb GK is at 18:16.
