Jubilee edition of the most entertaining art race

The artistic and cultural scene of Zagreb is becoming more diverse and richer, while art occupies an increasingly important place in the lives of the citizens and visitors of our capital. According to some sources, Zagreb boasts the largest number of galleries and museums per inhabitant in Europe, which further emphasizes its cultural importance. Thanks to the constant growth in the number of galleries, events and creative projects, a rich cultural and artistic autumn is ahead of us. The Rally for Galleries event also contributed to the development of the gallery audience in Croatia during the entire decade of its existence.

14 galleries are participating

Rally around the galleries, an interactive cultural event that networks numerous galleries in Zagreb and actively involves visitors in their tour, will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from 5 to 10 p.m. This unique event, which over the years has become an indispensable part of the autumn cultural offer, offers an unforgettable journey through different galleries and presents galleries in an even more creative way. This year's edition brings together 14 renowned galleries: Šira Gallery, Kranjčar Gallery, Fotoklub Zagreb, Ulupuh Gallery, SC Gallery, Karas Gallery, VN Gallery, Zen Contemporary Art Gallery, Trotoar Gallery, Forum Gallery, Art&CeRZe Gallery, LEXART Warehouse, Kaptol Gallery in Radićeva and Workshop 32 .

The event puts local artists and exhibition spaces in the spotlight, and encourages visitors to visit as many galleries as possible in one evening. Galleries will offer special programs during extended opening hours, including new exhibition openings and guided tours through current exhibitions, and this year visitors will be able to tour the galleries using a new interactive web application in addition to printed maps.

Rules of the game

The "rules of the game" are such that the first location of the tour is Galerija Šira, where maps can be downloaded from 5 p.m., and in each subsequent gallery you need to collect a sticker and stick it on the mark of the gallery visited. The last location of the tour is the second pop-up location of the Kaptol Gallery in Radićeva Street, where visitors who visit most of the galleries and fill in the maps by 10 p.m. will be awarded symbolic diplomas for saving culture, and a special musical program will be held .
