The Magnificent Tree – a timeless string album

Twenty-five years ago, we witnessed the transition into the new millennium, and we also had the opportunity to hear one of the most iconic electronic albums for the first time. The Magnificent Tree, the album that redefined the Belgian and European pop scene, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This masterpiece brought unforgettable hits such as Mad About You, Vinegar & Salt, Out of Sight and Jackie Cane. With the ethereal vocals of Geike Arnaert at the forefront, the album marked a turning point in the band's career, highlighting their authorial talent and sonic evolution.

The album's blend of trip-hop, pop sensibilities, and orchestral elements has won over audiences around the world, earning the band critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. On the album's anniversary tour, the band will provide audiences with a unique experience accompanied by a string quartet, adding a special touch to the event.

The concert in Zagreb represents a unique opportunity for all music lovers to return to the year 2000, when the album first saw the light of day and became a global sensation. The strength of The Magnificent Tree lies in its ability to combine Geika Arnaert's ethereal vocals, rich orchestral arrangements and infectious pop energy with a trip-hop sensibility. It is not without reason that the album stayed on the Ultratop chart for more than two years and became one of the best-selling Belgian albums of all time!

Hooverphonic and the Croatian audience: a love that lasts

Hooverphonic is a band that has never stuck to the beaten track. Founded in 1995, the band has won the hearts of Croatian fans from the very beginning. For more than 30 years, they have been perfecting their distinctive sound, and Alex Callier (songwriter/producer) and Raymond Geerts (guitarist) have remained the backbone of the band throughout the years. After numerous collaborations with exceptional singers, since 2020 they have once again enjoyed a joint collaboration with the legendary voice of Geike Arnaert.

Over the years, Hooverphonic has evolved from dark trip-hop to a warmer, more orchestral sound, balancing between psychedelia, infectious pop, and a soundscape reminiscent of a non-existent movie. Their musical journey to The Magnificent Tree was marked by innovation, artistic growth, and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of electronic and alternative music. That album remains a timeless classic, with the band's clear stamp and the foundation laid for continued success.

Their music reflects endless creativity and the ability to push the boundaries of genres, and the return of Geika Arnaert has further strengthened their unique sound. Zagreb audiences now have the opportunity to once again enjoy her ethereal vocals, which marked not only The Magnificent Tree, but an entire era of modern music.

Tickets for the additional concert on April 21st at the Boogaloo Club are already on sale via Entrio. If you missed the opportunity to get tickets for the first concert, this is your second chance to experience this unique concert experience and enjoy the performance of one of the most important albums in modern music!
