about

On the wings of the new single Always a Stranger and the upcoming album “Soft Tissue” which will see the light of day on September 13th, British indie giants and favorites of the domestic audience Tindersticks are returning to Zagreb for the fourth time after a long 12 years. The venue of this simultaneously dark and romantic celebration is exactly as befits the return of musicians of this caliber: the grand Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall! The date to note in your cell phones or black notebooks is March 3, 2025 (Monday).

Tindersticks was formed in 1991 in Nottingham, and the members had already played together in the notable band Asphalt Ribbons, which had formed four years earlier in the same city. Legend has it that the band got its name after frontman Stuart Staples, while walking on one of the Greek beaches, saw a box of German matches with "Tindersticks" written on them.

The first demos were made in 1992, and then they released their first single, Patchwork, for their own label Tippy Toe Records. They then released two self-titled Tindersticks albums: “first” and “second”, which were well received by both the public and critics. Their live performances were enhanced by a string section and even a full orchestra, and what that sounded like can be heard on the album “Bloomsbury Theatre 12. 3. 95.”. Their third album “Curtains” announced a change in musical expression, which they generally did not shy away from during their very rich and fruitful career with 13 studio albums, while the current band members also had numerous solo outings, most notably frontman Stuart Staples.

The band is also known for their collaboration with French director Claire Denis, for whose seven films they composed music, while their Tiny Tears can be heard in the first season of the cult Sopranos.

The aforementioned “Soft Tissue” that they will be promoting on this occasion comes with eight new songs and will be released by City Slang, with whom they have collaborated for 12 years, more precisely since the album “The Something Rain”. The album can be pre-ordered on the band's official website.

The Tindersticks concert in the "big Lisinsko" is definitely not to be missed!
