GITAK TV – The first 20 years
After sold-out screenings in Split, the film about the legendary Split comedians is finally coming to Zagreb.
The premiere, and at the same time the finale of the documentary film "GITAK TV – the first 20 years" , will be held on December 6 in the SC cinema, starting at 9 p.m. This will perhaps be the last opportunity to experience the GITAK TV atmosphere live, says the film's producer Maroje Sabljić, adding that this is the first and last screening in Zagreb, for which a farewell is being prepared in style after four years of work on the project.
Along with the film screening, viewers will be able to enjoy a rich accompanying program, which includes talking and socializing with members of the comedy group, trying out and taking photos with the iconic SL2000 elbow stand, and for smaller visitors and children, the SL1000 will be available, which in Croatia and the world there are only two copies. "It will be a unique opportunity to get answers to the questions: Why did they break up? Are they really in a fight? Why did Dena never succeed as an actor? And what does GITAK even mean!?" emphasizes Sabljić.
The main protagonists also announced their arrival at the film screening: yogurt man, selector Dena, grandmother Manda, puppet Švabo, Joško Lokas and Mirko Fodor, and maybe even members of TBF flew in from Sarajevo, where they had a concert the day before. "All in all, it will be a real party from GITK," says Sabljić.
The screenings at Split's Bačvici this summer were sold out, and more tickets were requested, points out Vanja Nikolić, the film's director, who expects a full hall and a great atmosphere, as was the case in Split. "The Split audience accepted the film brilliantly, and we believe that the Zagreb audience will also accept this beautiful legacy of a time with approval," concludes Nikolić.
GITAK TV, the legendary comedy group from Split, was founded in 1996 by high school friends: Mate Peruzović, Marija Grabovac, Bernard Perić, Matija Čizmić and Ivan Rožić. Their refreshingly unconventional humor has marked generations, leaving a deep mark on the pop-cultural identity of Split and Croatia.
The group's skits have achieved cult status on YouTube, going viral long before the term "viral" was even part of the common vocabulary. Exactly 20 years ago, GITAK TV entered the world of comedy more seriously, and on the occasion of that significant anniversary, through a series of happy and awkward circumstances, this documentary film was created that celebrates their authentic legacy.
See you at the screening, the party and the festive reception on December 6. at 9 p.m. Basketball!
