OHOHO FESTIVAL OF DIY COMICS AND STREET ARTS

OHOHO festival of DIY comics and street art will be held this year from 15 – 17.10.2020. in the premises of the former Medika factory (Pierottijeva 11, Zagreb). The theme of this year’s festival is Slavic mythology and folklore.

The OHOHO festival is a spatio-temporal (dis) continuum for the creation, discussion and exchange of contemporary comics and street art by artists who create underground art according to DIY poetics. The focus of the festival is on recent street art and independent comics, and the festival events – drawing / muralist actions, workshops, residencies, exhibitions and talks – are aimed at all those interested in the medium of independent posters, graphics, illustrations and comics.

The festival is organized by AKC Attack, for years in collaboration with Komikaze, and in 2020 it is artistically designed by four Croatian artists – Lea Kralj Jager, Marko Dješka, Mario Miličić. Author of the visual identity of the festival.

This year’s festival in pandemic attire will give you an overview of comic scenes, and street artists will paint the walls of Medica. An exhibition of comics, promotion of the 2nd issue of Ohoho fanzine and comics by Vinko Barić Baroque man and comic flea market is waiting for you.

Guests and exhibitors of the festival are: Sanja Kolenko illustrator and graphic designer from Varaždin, Dean Hamer from Zagreb, Vinko Barić from Split, Ivana Geček from Varaždin, Lucija (Šišmiš) Mitar and Mihaela Erceg from Zagreb. Among the exhibitors in OHOHOzin are Aleksandar Zograf, Jana Adamovic, Midhat Kapetanovic, Stipan Tadic, Matija Pisacic, Marko Djeska, Mihaela Erceg, Lea Kralj Jager and many others.

OHOHO 2020 was financially supported by the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia.

Part of the festival’s activities are held outdoors, in the courtyard of Medica. Please act responsibly, maintain a distance and wear masks if necessary! In the space you will also find disinfectants that we ask you to use. Up to 10 people can enter the Siva Gallery with the obligatory wearing of masks.
