The club program that raised generations is celebrating 25 years

A big birthday party will be celebrated on March 31 in Zagreb's Best

On Friday, March 31, in Zagreb's Best, the 25th anniversary of the cult club night Astralis will be celebrated. The team consisting of: Dogma 3000, M-Run, DJ Yvann, DJ Go Cut and Damir Ludvig will be joined by the Japanese DJ star, Tsuyoshi Suzuki .

Since the beginning of its activity, Astralis has gathered a large number of lovers of electronic music and was one of the polygons for the development of the Rave phenomenon and subculture in Croatia, which reached its peak in the early 2000s.

A genre that raised generations

Rave as a subculture made a great contribution to the community by defining musical styles, creating fashion trends, uniting the post-war generations of young people into one "dance tribe" that is guided by the slogan PLUR (peace, love, unity, rave), i.e. – peace, love, unity, respect.

Thousands and thousands of people gathered every Friday and Saturday on the dance floors of Croatia and enjoyed the energy of movement, togetherness, non-violence. It was an expression of both global and local trends, where the energy of unity and non-violence was a counterpoint to the war that was raging or had just ended. Generations that grew up in the rave movement with house or techno music remember that period as perhaps one of the last, great subcultural-musical movements that united large masses of young people. Ravers were not apolitical, even though their actions are not aimed at changing the world, but their political expression lies in a departure from reality. What we remember the "Party" Rave culture for is precisely the feel-good atmosphere that captivated even passers-by at these events.

In this sense, during a quarter of a century, Astralis parties were held in clubs throughout Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also on the Côte d'Azur. However, at The Best club, all attendance records were broken. And that's exactly where Astralis will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
