The moment the duo steps on the podium they become BlackboxRed. A heavily crushing grunge steamroller. A hounded human machine. Eva stares. An atom-splitting gaze. She tortures her guitar and menaces vocally. Meanwhile Stefan becomes a hammering octopus hitting his drums mercilessly. A stroboscope – the devil’s light – dazzles the spectators. No escape route.

Inspired by the likes of The Dead Weather, Crystal Castles and The Joy Formidable you get the idea of what these two are getting at.

Their second full-length album ‘Salt In My Eyes’ is out now worldwide on Butler Records (2018). After the release of their debut album ‘The Gunner and the Ghost’ (2013), multiple singles and the EP ‘Beak to Beak’ (2015), BlackboxRed is now even more dark, mature and dangerous on this new album, they also got Inspired by the dark French television series Les Revenants (the recipients) and Greek tragedies. For the recordings of the album, the band built a studio together with producer Chris Hamilton (Torres, Kate Nash) in the home of Dutch the festival Welcome to the village. The mastering is done by Jason Mitchell (PJ Harvey).

Svoj prvi singl sa videospotom pod nazivom ”Reci, reci mi” izbacuje krajem 2016. godine, a nakon još dva proljetna singla u 2017. izbacuje album naziva Varijacije na Tugu, snimljen po zagrebačkim kućnim studijima i dovršen u vlastitoj produkciji. Nakon nekoliko gostovanja po regiji, od Novog Marofa i Zagreba preko Novog Sada i Beograda do Skopja i Plovdiva, u lipnju 2018. dočekuje izlazak EP-a pod nazivom Izlazi Sunce snimljenog u skopskom Studio 1060 i izdatog za Balkan Veliki.

U jesen 2018. izlaskom novog singla ”Meni nikad nije dosta” za svoj vjerni label Prokulica Records najavljuje novu fazu u kojoj se na live nastupima rješava gitare i fokus stavlja na igru vokalom uz pratnju već postojeće glazbe. U tom formatu svira ispred Svemirka u čakovečkom Prostoru, Bitipatibija u zagrebačkom KSETU-u te proljeće 2019. koristi za promociju materijala od Ljubljane do Istanbula.
