Croatian Museum of Natural History
The museum collects, preserves, studies and presents various natural objects as testimonies or documents related to the natural history of Croatia. The museum collections contain more than 2 million specimens of minerals, rocks, fossils, prepared plants and animals from all parts of Croatian territory, but also from neighboring countries and other continents. Today, the professional activity of the Museum is realized within its specialist departments: Geological-paleontological, Zoological, Mineralogical-petrographic, which, except for the Botanical, until the unification into today's Croatian Museum of Natural History in 1986, operated as separate museum institutions.
