Trip hop legend Tricky returns to Croatia Adrian Nicholas Matthews, or Tricky for short, is preparing a concert on February 24 at the Močvara club in Zagreb.
After the excellent biography “Hell Is Round The Corner” was published last year, Tricky is bringing new music and an accompanying European tour this year. The EP, titled “20.20”, is scheduled for March 6, and is preceded by the single “Lonely Dancer”, which was presented today. A wonderful downtempo thing involves working with Anika, a British musician with a Berlin address.
Tricky appeared on the global music scene in 1995 with the debut of “Maxinquaye”, the first of his eleven studio albums. After years of gathering experience as a collaborator of Massive Attack, part of The Wild Bunch team and the Bristol scene, this release has made him a world star and made trip hop a more exciting new sound on stage.
Tricky’s then-collaborator Martina Topley Bird has remained to this day probably the most recognizable vocalist of his songs, although they have collaborated on only three albums. In general, Tricky’s music has been marked by lead female vocals for nearly two decades. Bjork, Neneh Cherry, PJ Harvey, Cindy Lauper, Costanza Francavilla, Nneka, Oh Land and many others appeared as collaborators. And the list of male musicians who have gone through Tricky’s songs is impressive, from DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill, members of RHCP to Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream.
With all the wanderings, ups and downs, Adrian Thaws has managed to remain one of the most respected and innovative musicians of today. The EP “20.20” represents an exciting new creative phase.
Tickets for the Zagreb concert go on sale on Friday, February 21 at a price of 140 kn, while on the day of the concert you will need to pay 170 kn for the entrance. Of course, those purchased for a deferred date are valid for a new concert. Official outlets are Dirty Old Shop (Tratinska 18), Rockmark (Berislavićeva 13), Dallas Music Shop Rijeka (Splitska 2a), all Eventim outlets and online . The return of purchased tickets for the canceled concert in Rijeka, as well as for the Zagreb audience to which the new date does not respond, will take place from July 24 to September 1 at the points of sale where they were purchased.
