NOTEBOOK ROBIJA K.

duration: 80 min

As part of Kerempuh's initiative – the engagement and affirmation of the younger generation of directors – the promising director Marina Pejnović set "Robija K's Notebook". Viktor Ivančić, a renowned journalist and publicist, best known as one of the founders of the cult satirical-political weekly Feral Tribune.

An equally famous and satirical column was written in the form of a diary of the Split boy Robi K., the author of an alter ego and a ruthless witness to countless absurdities of Croatian everyday life, and this time

The adaptation of the feuilleton to the theatrical medium dissolved a ludic mosaic of a shifted and grotesque universe with unstable yet recognizable characters, messy dialect and local speech, as well as many current socio-political themes that become bitterly funny when turned into absurd situations.

The play "Robbie K.'s Notebook" it is a theatrical play that never completely enters the theatrical illusion, not allowing viewers to forget the reality that strikes them in the head – from nationalism and nationalist mythomania, patriotic upbringing in the atmosphere of a wave of emigration from Croatia, questionable state-building and Catholic shrines, oppressed and oppressors, “ours” and “theirs” all the way to the sediments of the past, wars and various -isms. Robi K., as an observer, a witness to turbulent times and the inevitable little teaser, opens the door to a witty and cruel world that is as much his as ours.
