Kumrovec

One of Zagorje's favorite destinations for day family trips is the village of Kumrovec, where traditional village houses have been restored in today's Old Village Museum. The museum is actually an open-air ethnographic collection, with a very attractive expensive straw-covered house from the 19th century, which exhibits various objects from everyday life and tools that local farmers once used while working in the field.

In many houses you can see examples of traditional rural crafts, from embroideries embroidered by Zagorje women to gingerbread products of bright colors made by a rural confectioner. Rural skills can often be shown to the guest by local craftsmen, and they will also give you the opportunity to try your hand at a potter's wheel.
