This summer, Croatia got a new tourist attraction that will make Istria an even more attractive region to visit. The youngest Istrian town of Ra\u0161a has always been known as the town of miners<\/strong> , and this is exactly the topic of this text. Kova Experience mining tour<\/strong> through the Ra\u0161a mine. The tour lasts three hours and consists of two parts.<\/p> First you gather in the mining house

The idea of the tour is to present the life of miners who tirelessly extracted coal from the Ra\u0161a mine day after day for decades. Namely, it is the only coal mine in Croatia that is open to the public<\/strong> . After a full 60 years that the mine was closed. Now, before you get dirty, you will have the opportunity to explore the mining museum, officially known as Kovarska ku\u0107a Arsia<\/strong> . There you will encounter authentic mining artifacts, as well as short clips of various video materials. <\/p>

The entire house is decorated to resemble the interior of a mine, and the museum also has a replica of a modest miner's cabin. In this case, it consists of a kitchen and a bedroom, and most of the items from both rooms are actual useful items from the last century. <\/p>

Don't forget to take a look at the souvenir shop<\/strong> and take a piece of this unique experience with you. You probably know that the mining motto is "HAPPY"<\/strong> . The souvenir shop, of course, offers plenty of items with the same inscription. We were carried away by happiness, treated ourselves with everything from the offer. With a cup called "chikarica", a brooch, a t-shirt, a water bottle and a copper wagon like the hundreds that came out of the Ra\u0161a mine. <\/p>

Enriched with useful, but also interesting information from the mining past of this town and its inhabitants, you will be ready for the next part of the journey. But not before putting on safety helmets and vests and appropriate footwear. A few kilometers of walking through two mining pits - Ra\u0161a and Karlota -<\/strong> await you. This part of the tour is by no means recommended for claustrophobics. And it is not for those with respiratory or heart diseases either. And not even for children under 14 or pensioners with lower physical fitness.<\/p>
