Today begins the most famous regional comics festival, Cartoons Show - Zagreb Comic Con<\/a> , whose 23rd edition will take place from 25 to 27 September at the Culture Factory in Zagreb. <\/p>

Visitors can expect an extremely rich program with an emphasis on guest appearances by local authors and the promotion of their new comics. <\/p> Great comics fair

First of all, there is a large comics fair, where exhibitors - relevant domestic publishers such as Fibra, VBZ, Sandorf, Association CR\u0160 and Comics Columbo and bookstores Torpedo, Comics Square, Bookara, New Reality and others - will offer their books with the appropriate discount. <\/p>

There will also be a comic school for the youngest led by Ivan Mak from Artoratorio, a fun comic quiz, a Bosson magazine forum, an art market forum, but also a very interesting literary "hackathon" inspired by some of Ivana Brli\u0107 Ma\u017eurani\u0107's most famous stories, organized by Bookare<\/a> . <\/p>

This year's guests of the festival are comic artists and authors \u0160tef Bartoli\u0107, Kre\u0161imir Biuk, Marko Dje\u0161ka, Frano Petru\u0161a, Josip Sr\u0161en and Fran Strukan. During the weekend, they will draw and sign comics for the audience, but also present their work through moderated talks and promotions of their new works. <\/p>

Promotions of the comics "Forest Story and New Stories" by Josip Sr\u0161en, "New Adventures of the Baroque Man" by Vinko Bari\u0107 and "Father" by Frane Petru\u0161a are expected, as well as the long-awaited debut albums by Tihomir Matijevi\u0107, "Flowers at the Bar" and Domagoj Rap\u010dak - Mzungu Port". <\/p>

Among the novelties that will be available for the first time at the festival, the Croatian edition of the exciting new comic book about Spider-Man "Miles Morales: Straight from Brooklyn" by screenwriter Saladin Ahmed and young hopeful Marvel Javier Garron (translated by Lana Br\u010di\u0107) stands out. best animated film awarded "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse". <\/p>

The titles "Bram Stoker's Dracula" by screenwriter Roy Thomas and famous cartoonist Mike Mignola (translated by Marin Radi\u0161i\u0107) were also eagerly awaited; \u201cHit-Girl in Hong Kong\u201d by screenwriter Daniel Way and Croatian world-famous cartoonist Goran Parlov (translated by Josip Sr\u0161en); the new \u201cBouncers\u201d by the cartoon and screenwriting duo Boucq-Jodorowsky (translated by Tina Dunji\u0107 Messmer) and \u201cTarzan: The Land Forgotten by Time and the Pool of Time\u201d by Russ Manning and Edgar Rice Burroughs (translated by Ozren \u0160varc) - all published by the CR\u0160 Association. The legendary Franz's "Jugurta" and "Lester Cockney" by Frontispis (translated by Davor Pukljak) were recently published. <\/p>

The newly established Croatian Author's Comics Association and the Ohoho Festival of Independent and Underground Comics and Street Art will also present their work. The Ohoho Festival also publishes the annual fanzine OHOHOzin, the second edition of which is freshly published, dedicated to Slavic mythology and folklore. Editors Marko Dje\u0161ka, Lea Kralj Jager and Matija Pisa\u010di\u0107 and comic book authors Stipan Tadi\u0107 and Korina Hunjak will talk about it. <\/p>

The guest of the festival is also the comic essayist and critic Zoran \u0110ukanovi\u0107, who will give a series of interesting lectures, for example on the western hero Ken Parker or the "Gri\u010dka vje\u0161tica" of the comic genius Andrija Maurovi\u0107. <\/p>
