RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

20/20 takes us to two different worlds a hundred years apart. Or maybe they aren’t that different? Are we going backwards or are we just floating between the known and the unknown, looking for a system that can swallow everything we are used to, but in a new form?

Starting in the 1920s and traveling to the 1920s, we examine the concepts of decadence, crisis, liberation of the body and sexuality, touch and distance.

Just as 1920 marked the transition to a decade that brings new forms of behavior and a view of the body, especially women, which is freed from the shackles of previous clothing and restraint of movement, so in 2020 it welcomed us with new rules – stay away , find a different way to communicate. What did the century bring between them? Are we even equipped today for a new world, in which familiar patterns are becoming unacceptable? And just as some in the last century saw liberation as debauchery, moral decay, and indulgence, so today there is again a gap of close contact, and the question is how this will leave traces in the time to come.

Balancing between risk and security, release and closure, establishment and disintegration, 20/20 tries to reconnoiter what will be 30/30, 40/40, and so on.
